Topic: Are Reamps Needed for RME outputs?

I do a lot of sending to external devices (pedals, rack gear, amps, etc) and I usually only use reamp boxes for finnicky gear. I was recently testing reamp against the direct out of the RME for my Echoplex and couldn't find a difference. Maybe slightly lower high frequency noise in the RME output signal, which would be the opposite of what I would expect.

I suppose having the physical trim pot and ground lift has it's usefulness, but aside from that, is there any NEED for a reamp?

EDIT: Specifically for output settings +4dBu, which seems to be right in the output range of my reamp boxes
