Topic: Bit depth with USB

Is there a way to show bit depth when connected to USB; besides sample rate? In the state overview screen, bit depth only shows for the two SPDIF connections.

My early days of RME is a lot of "don't know", here is the best place to ask if you are in doubt.

Download it and experience it, you will love it.

I am using MacOS, the final version not out yet, and I am long for it....

Re: Bit depth with USB

Digicheck is one answer, but, thinking about it, my original question is unanswered - why doesn’t RME display bit depth for a USB input? It must know the bit depth, mustn’t it?

Perhaps this thread - one year ago - may help: https://forum.rme-audio.de/viewtopic.ph … 99#p164699

Why does the "State Overview" screen not show USB bit depth in the rightmost column (ADI-2 DAC FS), say for 44.1KHz-16bit, 96KHz-24bit files?

Thank you.

Re: Bit depth with USB

Hi- Down loaded Digitech. How do I assign an audio device to it? The software asked for access to my microphone.

DigiTech or DigiCheck???

If it is DigiCheck:
Before

  • MADIFace installed?

  • ADI-2 *** on and USB connected?

  • Some Audio playing?

  • DigiCheck started?

Then

  1. Press [F3] or [Options], [Input Device Setup...]

  2. ASIO driver select: ASIO MADIFace USB

  3. Bar 1 (L) Device ADI-2 ***, Channel Main Out 1, Source Playback

  4. Bar 2 (R) Device ADI-2 ***, Channel Main Out 2, Source Playback

  5. [OK]

Edit: copy 'n paste error Main Out 1 / 2
