Topic: SUBWOOFER and BiAmp -- ADI-2 Pro FS R Black Edition vs ADI-2 DAC FS

I am considering the ADI-2 Pro FS R Black Edition vs the ADI-2 DAC FS.

I understand that the Pro FS R BE has two DAC chips, while the ADI-2 DAC FS has one DAC chip.

If my goal is to run a subwoofer plus 2 front speakers, is one of these units easier or better compared to the other?

What if I want to Bi-Amp the front speakers (splitting low + high frequencies) AND also have a sub? Is that possible with either unit?

Thanks in advance.

If you want to use ADI-2 as X-over for low and high you need the two separate DSPs/DACs ADI-2 Pro offers.

A sub can be run in parallel to the low frequency path if the sub has a built in low pass filter.
Most subwoofers have such.

Here’s a concept how to run a sub from ADI-2:

On a first glance this looks complicated - it’s not!

Thanks @kais this was a helpful post.

I decided to buy the ADI-2 Pro as it will be more flexible and I like to tinker. Good times.
