Topic: RME ADI-2 DAC FS - Wake from input

Good day all,

The DAC is permanently on in an entertainment area, 2 floors above. Connected to a system that sends music to controllable rooms throughout the house.

I would like to switch it to stand by and have an input when activated (say a song is played in Roon) turn the DAC from standby to on. Priority would be USB, then Toslink.

In the IT industry, we can do this with a Wake on LAN command. Audio seems different.

Wondering if this is at all possible with a setting or a workaround, outside of a remote power switch?

Thanks for anyone's assistance

Re: RME ADI-2 DAC FS - Wake from input

Not possible due to limitation at existing hardware .....

Just leave it permanently on, or try other smart home application to power it up and send a remote signal to it to turn it on.

Pacifist, dumb, not stupid
Listen music out from a box which sounds
Reading words on paper/ screen

Thanks for the reply Johannes AU.

I suspected as much and it remains on for now.

Cheers.
