Topic: Settings for Vinyl Recording with ADI-2 Pro FS R

Hello, Upgrading from a Scarlett 2i2 and just purchased the RME ADI-2 Pro FS R. What settings need to be applied in ADI-2 Pro FS R for Vinyl Recording and also for listening through my headphones while recording my albums?

My setup: Technics SL-1500C turntable > Cartridge (AT VM540ML) > MOON LP110 Phono Preamp > RME ADI-2 Pro FS R > Mac > Vinyl Studio

I want to record  at no higher than -6db at 24/96 maybe play around with 24/192

Re: Settings for Vinyl Recording with ADI-2 Pro FS R

Is there a problem? What is not working ?
Basically I see the following steps.
Install RME ASIO driver, install Vinylstudio, select ASIO driver in application.
Play the record and then just see what happens. For recording I would select 96 kHz and 24bit.
The levels are visible in the state overview and certainly in Vinylstudio.
The higher the selected Reference Level at the analog input of the ADI-2 Pro, the more headroom and the lower the volume. There are only 4 settings, which you would have to try out.
Adjust the whole thing a bit with the volume control of the phono preamp, so that the desired volume comes out. I would not open the volume completely. As AD filter I would leave it with the default filter.

Here‘s my take on this:

For the level just choose from ADI-2 Pro‘s analog input’s Reference Level, see manual page 21.

Usually all other setting should work in factory default.

No, there's no problem, I just received the unit and haven't set it up yet and was just wondering if there were any settings I needed to make before recording. Thanks for replying!
