Topic: EQ applied when recording with ADI- 2 Pro ADC?

Hi there,

I've just ordered myself a ADI-2 Pro FS R BE, mainly for digitizing vinyl records. I used a Steinberg UR44 for vinyl rips till now but I found that it's transient response/dynamics were not perfect in A/B comparison to direct vinyl sound. So the ADI is going to arrive next week but I can't wait to ask a little question:

Can the internal EQ settings be applied to the digital output? And if yes, would it be a good idea to correct some dull sounding vinyl pressings with it, or does digital editing afterwards offer better quality?

There is an EQ in the analog recording path.
To use it or not is on your own.

It’s common studio praxis to do transfers as linear as possible, do the mastering as last step, after restoration, and keep the original as backup.

Your dull of today might be your full sound of tomorrow.

The make or break of vinyl transfer is the pickup and it’s needle, and the pickup alignment.
I’ve yet to come across a real “dull” recording.
