Topic: Feature request: more than 8 snapshots in Totalmix

As I understand it, I can manage a total of eight different snapshots directly in Totalmix. If I need more, I have to import/export a new set of snapshots.

I use the snapshots to control various configurations of my tube amps and effects pedals in conjunction with ADAT converters. Changing the order of various preamps, external effects, serial or parallel connection - and all this controlled via MIDI - is extremely helpful.

However, more than eight snapshots are required for stage use. In the studio it's no problem to import a new set, live it doesn't work - I can't/don't want to reconfigure Totalmix while performing.

Is there a trick I missed in the manual, or would it be a feature request that more than eight snapshots can be addressed (via MIDI)? By that I mean, for example, 127 snapshots that can be controlled via program changes...

Hi smile

I'm not a snapshot expert at all but could you save multiple Workspaces, each with their own 8 Snapshots? Just trying to think of a workaround for you.

Hope you find a solution.

Re: Feature request: more than 8 snapshots in Totalmix

searching the owners manual for my interface I found this location where all settings, workspaces and snapshots are stored:

C.\Users\Username\AppData\Local\TotalMixFX

Hope that helps.

BUT, after just seeing your other thread about wanting to stop the snapshot from flashing...I'm going to deduce that deleting the snapshot is your intention and way of doing that. I'm pretty sure that if you create a workspace that you use most if not all of the time and save it and all the associated snapshots, then simply reloading that workspace would stop the snapshot flashing. at least, until you make a change to the workspace/snapshot. I'm pretty sure that's just the way TM FX works and it's an indication that a change has been made.

If the flashing is just a distraction you're trying to stop, I don't think you'll be able to do that and still use TM the way it's intended. You could always try one of the other color schemes (light, dark...can't remember but I think there's 3?) and see if that minimizes the flashing. I've never found the default that distracting but everyone is different smile

Good luck!

Well, the other option is that after making a change to your snapshot (move levels up or down) and you want to keep that change, just click the Store button and then the snapshot you've modified. This will store the new snapshot and stop the blinking...at least until the next change you make to it smile
