I need an audio interface with AES/EBU outputs to drive my monitors Genelec monitors digitally. The UFX II is pretty much all I'll ever need in terms of I/O but there are some features that IMO where better in the old UFX, notably pre-fader loopback. The UCX II, on the other hand, is perfect but except for the reduced I/O features. RME will eventually release upgraded UFX II and UFX+ models (UFX II FS and UFX+ FS ?) to bring the latest improvements of the UCX II to the flagship models. I reckon that will be sooner than later, becasue the UFX+ was released about six years ago, and it would be disapppointing to buy this now if 3 months later there's going to be an updated model going for a similar price. Maybe other people considering RME interfaces or who recently bought one can share their views to help me decide, cheers.
