Topic: RME HDSP AIO No MIDI input or output with MIDI Din

High,

I have a RME HDSP AIO installed under Windows 10 21H2.

RME Driver Version is driver_hdsp_win_438.

I/O Sound, routing, playback works fine. RME Total Mix works fine. No issues at all.

My problem:

I see the AIO Midi channel in every host application (Studio One, other DAWs, etc.), but I am not receiving any midi data from let's say an AKAI MPK 225 hardware keyboard via the MIDI Din input channel. (MIDI Din input on the RME HDSP AIO). Receving midi data via USB is fine with this keyboard.

Also sending MIDI data to the AIO Midi output channel doesn't work. My hardware synthesizers are not receiving any midi data from the midi output (Midi Din output on the RME HDSP AIO).

My question:

What drivers, folders or files do I need to check, change or delete to make the AIO midi channels work?

First exchange the DIN plug cables to make sure MIDI out is really out, not in, and vice versa. The label on the breakout cable may be wrong.

Second unplug the breakout cable and check that the pins of the mini DIN connector are all straight. If one is bended and squashed then it won't work.
