Topic: UFX II Driver Names in Cakewalk (or probably any DAW)

I am wondering why the USB drivers for Windows 10, both input and output drivers, are named with their analog counterparts, i.e. "1-2 ASIO MADIFace USB Analog 1 (1)".

If the audio signal path both to and from the computer is happening via USB (digital), why are the driver names associated with the various analog inputs and outputs?  The term "analog" is confusing to me.

Thanks!

These are channel names, not driver names. Different channels, different names. I fail to see how not everyone else would be confused when trying to select the SPDIF I/O and only gets to read USB multiple times.
