Topic: Controlling Totalmix via Midi-Console // How to select Fader-Rows

Hi all,
I work with Totalmix since more than a decade and now implement it in the studio I work for.

We bought the USB-ARC and a SSL UF-8 to control Totalmix via Mackie protocol. And even if the possibilities to remap the buttons in the UF-8 are very small, we can control Totalmix very well and get good responds and informations back to the display.

But I still have two big issues I can't get a workaround:
1.
Of course it is possible to switch between the fadergroups (up dan down and left and right)
But is it possible to assign the fadergroups directly? To have three buttons for the three rows?

2.
It is easy to select the submix you are working on (Main, Headphones1&2 and Talkback-Box in our case) when you go to the "Output-row" and select the Channel via the REC/Select-Button on the SSL.
But is there also a way to select it via a Midi-command? When changing something in the Submix, I normally need the playback row visible. So it would be great to select a submix via a hotkey while the fadergroup of the playback is selected.
I read through all (?) the MCU and TMFX Midi-Mappings and found those of "Raphael Mouneyres" showing the Midi CCs (dec 104/hex 68...) on Midichannels 13 upwards which should select a submix.
I could not get this to work.
Has anyone found out if this is working or has another route for me to go?

I normally would use the Bome-Midi-Translator to tweak the Midi-Mappings to fit between SSL UF8 and Totalmix.
Is there a better program for this?

And could I imporve things when translating the midi-massages from my UF8 to OSC-Messages? I know the android app TouchOSC. But it is a totally new idea for me to use a midicontroller to trigger OSC-Commands that trigger my Totalmix-Software. Could this even work and if yes: Which software should I use as "OSC-Translator"?

And last but not least:
Are there any possibilities to have the Talkback function in a "Latch"-mode? I know this from our old Yamaha O2R-Console and the new Audient Nero Controller. Pushing the Talkback-Button fast (<0.5 sec) to turn the talkback on until the button gets pushed again. And holding the button for a momentary talkback.
I hoped that the "ARC" would have this feature but while it hast 7 functions in the talkback dropdown-menu, it does not have a latch mode.

Thanks in advance to everyone for any help.
Simon

Re: Controlling Totalmix via Midi-Console // How to select Fader-Rows

Could you please provide a step by step for using UF8 with TotalMix? Thank you.
I’d be happy to send you a consult fee for doing it. I am stuck trying to make TotalMix see the SSL UF8 surface.
Thanks in advance,
Asif
