Topic: Stock(original) firmware for RME ADI-2 DAC FS?

Hi

After updating my firmware to the latest this week I have got a issues with the sound.

It drops out in period Firmware V.51 78 0.9808

I did not have any issues before nothing has changed in my setup.

I have done all the troubleshoot needed.

I am only asking for a download link for ESS version, and please the one that came with the unit.

Firmware and driver please

Is this possible?

Re: Stock(original) firmware for RME ADI-2 DAC FS?

I guess Im have to throw this dac out.

Thanks for the help

Re: Stock(original) firmware for RME ADI-2 DAC FS?

Maybe you just have to uninstall AND DELETE the driver if you had ADI-2 running without it before, and don‘t use ASIO software.

Look in the manual page 42 to see how to do it:
“To use Windows own Class Compliant drivers the RME driver has to be removed completely (for example after a firmware update). In Device Manager select the ADI-2 DAC under Sound, Video and Game Controllers, right click and choose Uninstall. In the next dialog make sure to check 'Delete the driver software for this device'. Otherwise the driver will stay within the Windows installation and gets reinstalled automatically after the next reboot.”

If this doesn’t help:
I have a firmware DAC V.48 here, if you pm me your email adress I could send it.

I loosely remember there was a firmware / driver archive somewhere, maybe @mc could chime in.

Re: Stock(original) firmware for RME ADI-2 DAC FS?

I am soo happy for help :-)

@KaiS: About troubleshooting I work in IT, I can write you a book on the troubleshooting side of this DAC :-)

-I have been through everything from layer 1(usb cables/port, network)...and there drivers including chipset.
-Completely manual removal of RME drivers, and clean installation of it, even a new flash again.
-Every service been through
-every driver of every other ASIO and sound card, even DAW related. Virtual stuff etc
-completely thourough registry tweaks
-BIOS power savings etc...

These are the few.

I am on 22H2 Windows 10 buil
-I am starting to suspect Windows now

Might be, since Microsoft introduced the forced updates, Windows became a moving target.

Try:
• A different USB port, preferably opposed position like front<>rear.
• Swap USB cable for a short one, nothing fancy needed.
• Driverless like mentioned above, if this is an option for your purpose.

You should.

M1-Sonoma, Madiface Pro, Digiface USB, Babyface silver and blue

Re: Stock(original) firmware for RME ADI-2 DAC FS?

Have you tried a full factory reset:

While powering up, hold Encoder 1, Encoder 2 and the VOL Button (NOT the Volume dial) until you see “ Reset done”.

This erases all user Presets and Setups, so if you have such...

The reset that preserves the user Presets and Setups is:
While powering up, hold Encoder 1 and the VOL Button (NOT the Volume dial) until you see “ Reset done”.

Yes I have done this on both firmware 78/51 and 66/41.

This is really strange.

Re: Stock(original) firmware for RME ADI-2 DAC FS?

The Problem seems to be issue between cpu and gpu!!!

After disabling my RTX gpu and using the APU it works!!

Re: Stock(original) firmware for RME ADI-2 DAC FS?

Everybody has issues with Ryzen 5000 series generally.

Every google search pointed me in issues with 5000 series

Re: Stock(original) firmware for RME ADI-2 DAC FS?

Sometimes funny tricks like switching on mouse trails help.
Not that exactly this is the solution in this case.

I have read about this a few times before, and I am curious to know, how it is related.

It does not solve my issue
