Topic: Hello, very noob question, hardware old synth, which inputs best..?!

on UFX ii, I heard some hum noise through Mic/Inst inputs 11/12.. set it with Inst button, Gain a bit,
realised that inst may refer to guitar??

So I tried through Line IN 7/8 and noise is lesser.

Synths must be recorded through Line inputs at the back, correct then for best lesser-noise?

Synth is Nord rack 2, it is very old unit.

Hi
Instrument inputs normally are there for guitars or such. Synths or other keyboards often have line level outputs.

FF 400 - Babyface pro - Digiface USB - ADI-2 (original)
Mac mini M1 - Macbook pro - iPad Air2

Right, I kinda thought so! But can I ask odd question?
Last night, I connected my nord rack 2 outputs to Input 11/12, set as 'inst' right?
I was moving around the cables, and as I moved it towards hardware PSU area, I had this increasing hum..?

I ain't so sure about scientific reason, but could you please explain to me, whether this is normal for any Unbalanced TS cables...?

How could I get louder humming noise when I moved cables close to something... such as power line etc...?

Just very curious and I thought my cables were defective.
