Topic: UFX ii, How to connect SPDIF right!?

So, I will be as precise as possible.

1. I am planning on connecting SPL Machine Head gear with Spdif In/Out.
2. UFX ii does not have Spdif coaxial in/out so I googled around and found out that I can 'set' ADAT 2 in/out as SPDIF and use cheap converter to do so.

3. So, I bought, bi-directional something like this

https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005004 … ainProduct

4. Bought 2 x Coaxial RCA cables

5. Connected like this:

ADAT 2 out to Toslink In
Coaxial Out to SPL Machine Head Spidif In
Toslink Out to UFX ADAT 2 In
Spidif Out of SPL Machine Head to Spidif In of digital audio converter above.

Now, What am I doing wrong?

Because, first of all I set it like this:

Input Options:
Word Clock Termination Ticked
Optical 2 In : SPDIF

Output Options:
AES Format: Professional
Optical 2 Out: AES/SPDIF

Clock options:
Sample Rate : 48k
Clock Source: AES or Internal (shouldn't matter right..?)

Now, I am monitoring AES in and I am hearing the exactly same sound without any SPL Machine Head FX,
even though the gear shows meter of Driving and healthy saturation...?

AES/EBU connection was very good no issue at all.

I am sure something is wrong here, in between right?

haha.. did I buy wrong digital audio converter...?

*Also I am using AES for Genelec monitors but with UFX ii, do I only get one of AES or Spidif but not independent use of it...? if I am correct...??

Because on Totalmix, I can never find Spidif channels.
