Topic: Rattling sound from ADI Dac when shaken

Hi RME,

I have owned my RME ADI-2 DAC for almost 2 years and it is still at the heart of my headphone system.
Recently I noticed a very small rattling sound when I gently shook my unit. My unit is working fine without any warning when I turned it on, but I just would like to confirm if this is to be expected. If it does, could you point to the specific component within the unit that may cause it.
Thanks smile

Re: Rattling sound from ADI Dac when shaken

Do you mean rattling noise audible from the loudspeakers ?
Or something makes that noise inside the unit ? May be a plastic part is lose ?

Re: Rattling sound from ADI Dac when shaken

Hi, it is a noise inside the unit (only when the unit is shaken). I am wondering if you could replicate this when you shake your unit? Thanks smile
I am having a bit of anxiety since I recently packed my unit overseas with me. So I dont know if this is normal, or caused by rough handling by the airport people.

In my Madiface Pro there is a lose plastic part inside.
It is a cover or a cap something like that and one day I will fix it with hot glue. At moment I don't mind.

I bet there is no rattling sound 'inside' the DAC. It's from the front - the four keys. Put your finger on them and shake - sound gone.
