Topic: USB2 30m extension between computer and digiface USB?

Hi there,

I currently run (flawless) a 5m startech USB powered extension cord, but want to put the Digiface USB into a different room where I have only a network cat5 cable.

Would a converter USB2>CAT5>USB2 work, allowing for the low latency?

I don't know, maybe just try, you can always send it back.

What definitely works well for up to 100m is sending ADAT over Ethernet.
Appsys Pro Audio makes converter boxes for that which don't break the bank, if that helps.
Maybe your Digiface can stay in the room and you just extend the cables on the other end.
ADX-32B or if you need both directions and all ADAT I/Os of the Digiface, then the ADX-64B-PRO (which then needs  2x Cat5 cables).

What should also work is a fiber optical usb extension (Techly / Lindy / Corning...), but then you will need to run a cable.
