Topic: Fireface 802, Daw and Video Capture

I am transferring old VHS tapes to digital, using converter hardware (Elgato). Of course, the original tape source consists of analog audio and video.

During the transfer/conversion process, I would like to rout the incoming audio through my daw (Reaper) for EQing, then pass this effected signal on to the A/V recording program, where it will be paired with the digitally converted video.

Any idea how to achieve this with the 802- use its  loopback feature, or?

Re: Fireface 802, Daw and Video Capture

Hello!

There are a couple of ways you can achieve this!
One is, as you figured, to send the audio track from Reaper to an unused Output, turn Loopback On and use the respective Input in the A/V software.

The other one is that you can capture them separately.
Audio in Reaper, video in your A/V capture software and use Reaper for your final Video file.
Reaper supports video files, as well. Just put the video file on a new track, along with the audio track, adjust any latency compensation(if needed), EQ it and you 're ready!

PS: If Reaper doesn't open the Video Screen, automatically, go to "View" -> "Video".
Also, I don't know what Video format you use, to let you know if it's supported, but you can give it a try!
