Topic: Switching from 5,1 to M1 Silicon with PCIe in mind!
So writing in atmos I needed to check my work against commercial releases. I was able to take my 5,1 to Monetary which worked although a little buggy. When I tried to to it to Ventura they seemed to strip metal compatibility out so I could not use my RX580 and instead fell back onto a very old graphics card which could not even play a video in Pro Tools.
My work has just supplied me with a MAcBook M1 Pro with which I wish to make the swap over too.
My work place uses Sonnettech cases for the 'trash can' Mac Pros and the Mac Mini's we have.
I run my studio with a Raydat (which has been going strong for 14 years!). The only thing is after all that time some of the TOSLINK sockets are a bit loose. But then I found replacements from the RME spare website.

But I do not wish to change my Soundcard so I was pleased to find out Sonnetttech do PCIe housings as well.
On top of this they also do some great docks. The dual slot NVMe dock can even be a bootable disk.
I made a couple of videos incase anyone else is thinking of making the switch.
