Topic: ADi-2 DAC FS with Babyface Pro FS a noticeable upgrade in DAC?

I currently have a BFP FS and keep thinking about adding a ADI-2 DAC FS to handle the DAC but if only would be a noticeable upgrade in quality. From what little I can gather on the subject (a thread on the Audio Science Review forum), it sounds like the differences are pretty negligible.

Really, it comes down to gear acquisition syndrome (GAS) and not trying to solve any particular problem so a noticeable upgrade in quality is the biggest selling point.

  • Neumann KH80 + KH750 with built in DSP that is calibrated for my room using MA-1, so the ADI-2 EQ isn't a selling point for me

  • Heavily treated 6' x 12' room with custom built panels, super chunks and clouds

  • Having a remote to adjust volume sounds convenient, but TotalMix and Neumann MA-1 are a couple clicks away

No RME device is designed to sound specifically different or "better" than others... So, audible differences will be mostly subjective, if at all... Headphone output power is a definite plus here, though, if required.
