Topic: macOS Catalina - RME FF400 - Mac Mute button doesn't work (greyed out)

Hey gang,

I could swear that at one point in time, perhaps on a previous release of macOS or FF400 drivers, the Mute button on my Macbook Keyboard worked to completely mute the FF400 from outputting to my monitors... just like when you hit the Volume Down button all the way down to its minimum setting.

When I go into the Sound settings on the Mac, the Mute checkbox is greyed out and when I physically hit the Mute button on the keyboard, the little Mute symbol comes up on the screen, but there is no change in volume for whatever I have playing through the FF400.

Is anyone aware of how to get this Mute functionality back, or am I just totally hallucinating that it ever worked before?

Thanks,
Jeff

Well crud.  Tech support got back to me with the following:

RME had to remove support for the Mac keyboard hotkeys due to some other unexpected consequences. This did work in some previous driver versions. I do not believe there is any plan to bring that support back, sorry.
