Topic: [Solved] Talkback not working

Hi bit of a strange one.

Haven't recorded for a few months, started a session today - taklback not working to either headphone mix (never been a problem before)

Both mixes are picking up playback so not a connection issue.

Both mixes have the talkback mic fader up

The mic is working

Both headphone mixes have the talkback button lit

I was going to put a screenshot in but can't work out how to do it (do I have to have permission)?

I've downloaded the latest update to my Fireface UFX+ and macOS Monterey

Right off topic now - Sorry I can't work out how to post an image - I press the 'img' button and it enters img img (I haven't put the paranthesis in as I can't even post this reply) in the text how do I access my screenshot? I can't drag it in and it doesn't open a Finder window?

1. You have to upload your screenshot to a public image service, imgbb.com or imgur.com would be fine.
2. You have to open the link from that service in your browser to see your screenshot.
3. You have to right-click onto your photo and copy image address
4. Paste this image address between the img tags in the post.

If you use now <img> instead of <url> tags, then the picture will be loaded automatically by the browser and placed into the posting.

Thanks all - an image! So... any idea why talkback wouldn't work? Mic input working, faders up, buttons pressed?

The above shows one of the headphone mixes - with mic fader (input 9 labelled 'talk') up.

And there is also this T enabled. Better disable it for the time.
The fader is up but no signal is routed to the selected output channel... The fader is probably not up.
This T with the orange circle is not Talkback, it's Trim, making the fader working as a gain for it's active routings, but there are no.
Also I would do a Total Reset.
Menu Options, Reset Options, Total Reset.

Thanks for your reply. I am aware that button T is trim and as you can see from screenshot, channel fader for output is on 0db. Will try reset tomorrow thanks.

Is Mic 9 selected as Talkback Mic in the settings dialog ?

Obviously. But Trim on a Talkback channel does not make sense.

Thanks for all the feedback, I should report back as conclusions are always useful. Overnight a reboot and power down and up of the UFX+ appeared to work - I have no idea why as I'd tried this already to no difference.No settings were changed so its still a mystery.

To address your queries - yes Mic 9 selected as talkback (that's been my setting always)
Yes trim on talkback doesn't make sense but also doesn't make any difference to its operation - I've switched it off now.
