Topic: ADI-2-DAC FS routing SPDIF to DAW while playing audio out with ASIO?

Hi,

Is it possible to configure the ADI-2-DAC FS to play analogue audio out via ASIO while simultaneously routing the SPDIF digital in to the DAW?

I can switch the analogue output between USB and SPDIF, but when set to USB (i.e. I can hear the playback from the DAW), the digital signal doesn't go into the DAW. When set to SPDIF, it goes into the DAW fine but I can't hear playback from the DAW, just the signal coming in via digital.

Is this possible (on Win11 using Bitwig)?

Yes, read manual:
• page 10 chapter 5.6,
• page 20,
• page 22.
• the block diagram page 70, Loopback Option and Monitor Control,

With “Loopback” you can select “Pre FX”, makes SPDIF go to the DAW, while monitoring the USB / ASIO Playback from the DAW.


Page20:
Record SPDIF optical and Record SPDIF Coaxial activate the full duplex operation with USB: The respective SPDIF signal is clock source and can be recorded via USB. The analog output signal is the current USB playback, in case the sample rate is identical to the SPDIF input.
