Topic: ADI-2 Pro: Please share your preferred PEQ settings for AUDEZE LCD-X

Would you please share with me your favorite PEQ settings for the AUDEZE LCD-X 2021 model?

Which PEQ settings do YOU consider as "most neutral" considering the typical (minor?) flaws in the soundcurve of this headphone model.

I would like to try your preferred settings which might be helpful to tweak the sound of my AUDEZE LCD-X 2021 model

Looking forward to your expert opinion!

Thanks

Re: ADI-2 Pro: Please share your preferred PEQ settings for AUDEZE LCD-X

Try this one:

BB: LSC F 130Hz Gain 2.5dB Q 1.3 (adjust gain to taste)
B1: LSC F 40 Hz Gain 6.0dB Q 1.0
B2: PK F 300 Hz Gain -1.0 dB Q 0.5
B3: PK F 800 Hz Gain -2.0 dB Q 2.5
B4: PK F 3500 Hz Gain 3.0 dB Q 0.5 (adjust gain to taste)

Based on my experience with AUDEZE LCD-2Rev.2 and LCD-4, and on:
https://crinacle.com/graphs/headphones/ … D-X_(2021)

Fully correcting to the measurement gives weird results in my experience, specially in the treble range.

Bass boost amount (BB / Bass Band gain) depends on listening level and personal taste.
BB / Bass-Band is from the separate Bass/Treble EQ:

Re: ADI-2 Pro: Please share your preferred PEQ settings for AUDEZE LCD-X

As always KaiS, thank you so much for your quick reply and support!.
I bet your input will help me to get the best sound!

Re: ADI-2 Pro: Please share your preferred PEQ settings for AUDEZE LCD-X

Oh, please @KaiS help me out. As a noob, bear with me.
I've changed the PEQ settings B1, B2, B3, B4 according to your proposal and the sound is already very very good.

However, I'm not able to find the BB band which isn't B5, as I'm suspecting. I'm puzzled by this. Could't find any information anywhere else.
Would you please help me with the proper instructions to find the BB band?

Sorry for the inconvenience!

Great!

For those reading along:
BB / Bass-Band is from the separate Bass/Treble EQ.

The option:
• EQ / EQ / EQ Enable/Presets / [...Out...] / Load B/T w. Preset: “On”
fully integrates Bass/Treble into the 5-Band Parametric EQ.

The option needs to be activated individually for each Out (Line Out 1/2, Phones Out 3/4 etc.), that should use it.

B/T then appears as BB (Band Bass) and BT (Band Treble), changing the 5- into a 7-Band Parametric EQ with bands designated:
BB, B1, B2, B3, B4, B5, BT.

I always have this option on, as it makes EQ handling more comfortable and versatile.
Bass and Treble Gain can still be controlled from Encoder 1 and 2, and from the Remote for quick changes.

@KaiS,

Indeed the option "Load B/T w. Preset: set at "On" was the solution. It was overlooked by me since I wasn't aware of the meaning of this option. Thank you for the explanation!

Re: ADI-2 Pro: Please share your preferred PEQ settings for AUDEZE LCD-X

I prefer these settings in adi-2 with the lcd-x(2021):

+3db <150Hz "shelf", q1.0
-2db @ 700Hz, q3.5
+6db @ 3.8kHz, q3.5

Re: ADI-2 Pro: Please share your preferred PEQ settings for AUDEZE LCD-X

Did you know that Audeze measures all lcd-x and archive those measurements?
They do so with everything better than the lcd-2.
All you have to do is write them on their website, give them the serial number of your headphone, and they will e-mail you back with a measurement of that headphone.

Hi, I'm trying out these PEQ settings for my LCD-X. What settings for B5 and BT? What is LSC?

Re: ADI-2 Pro: Please share your preferred PEQ settings for AUDEZE LCD-X

Typo, sorry!
LSC = LSQ = Low Shelve with Q-factor, like the ones in ADI-2.

Here are the symbols you see in the lower right corner of the PEQ window:
The frequency markings for the shelf filters are not correct in the picture, ADI-2 uses about the middle of the effective boost/cut as nominal frequency.

Re: ADI-2 Pro: Please share your preferred PEQ settings for AUDEZE LCD-X

OK, thanks...what setting for B5 and BT?

Default, Gain to 0 dB = no boost or cut.

Like BB you can use BT for general treble control to taste.
BB and BT are accessible through Encoder 1 and 2 and the remote for convenient, quick changes.
