Topic: Running the 2/4 from a battery pack?

Is it possible to run the ADI Pro 2/4 SE from some kind of portable battery pack? I know nothing about this. What kind of unit would be required? Are they expensive? Are they heavy? Could they also be used to power a laptop? How many hours would one get?

I'm imagining mastering a track on headphones from the top of Mount Fuji, or something... wink

Thomann has something :

in case the other isn't available anymore, the ampere seems to be too low...?
You will find alternatives if need.

Thanks, I'll research the specs needed for the 2/4.

Re: Running the 2/4 from a battery pack?

From the specs:
Idle current at 12 V: 1160 mA

This is the minimum requirement, just for starting ADI-2/4 Pro, without powering headphones.

Max. power consumption: 30 Watts (= 2500 mA)
This is for 2 pairs of power hungry headphones, driven loud.

So, I’d suggest to find a power bank with at least 12 V / 2000 mA output.

To estimate the about hours, divide the power banks capacity in mAh (at 12 V output) by 1400 mA.
If the power bank’s capacity is spec’ed at 3.7 V only, factor in: hours x0.3.

Thank you, I'll start looking for power banks that might fit, the other thread's recommendation is from 2017 so am hoping there will be other/better options now. Having said that, MC rated it, and I see it's 20,100 mAh so should be more than enough, and good for 12 hours or so.
