Topic: Routing question in RME ADI-2 DAC FS

When I set input to SPDIF or ADAT in ADI-2, does ADI-2 DAC automatically become a slave to the device that is feeding the signal?
I am guessing yes, because it doesn't feed the signal back, and can only clock to another clock incoming.

In terms of recording set up. I want to set up an output from my pre-amp that has ADAT to ADI-2, for recording.
Does that configuration clash to outputting regular computer signal through ADI-2 DAC? I don't think it should, but I don't know.

Also, if I have ADAT or SPDIF/coaxial plugged into my ADI-2 DAC, can I still set my DAC as a master when not recording?
I am guessing selecting USB source will disable input of SPDIF and ADAT as input recording source in that scenario.

Re: Routing question in RME ADI-2 DAC FS

Recording ADI-2 DAC’s Optical or Coax input via USB is possible.
ADI-2 DAC is always clock slave to the selected source.

Manual page 20 contains all the information:

12.1 Subpage Settings
...
Record SPDIF optical and Record SPDIF Coaxial activate the full duplex operation with USB: The respective SPDIF signal is clock source and can be recorded via USB. The analog output signal is the current USB playback, in case the sample rate is identical to the SPDIF input.
