Topic: Recording loopback

Hello everyone,
I have a rme ucx2 new interface, and im trying to record my guitar with the reverb of the interface using loopback feature. The problem is that while recording the guitar i listening to a backing track through my headphones as a monitor and the loopback take that as well and record it.. is there a way to record just the guitar with the fx separately without the backing track but still be able to use the headphones as a monitor during the process?

Re: Recording loopback

No.
The Loopback takes the whole signal from that output, in your case guitar plus reverb plus background music.
The Loopback can't separate a mixed signal.
You have to work this in the DAW.
Record the dry guitar signal and add reverb afterwards in the mixing process is common.
here a free reverb plugin :

Re: Recording loopback

You can route the guitar to an loopback output and record that dry, and another loopback track without the guitar and only the FX return fader up. Do not route the guitar to that FX output. The monitor output you do not need to loopback.
