Topic: RME Fireface UFX II into USB 2 or can it be USB 3?

Hi, I've built a new DAW and it's a while since I installed my UFX II. Can it be connected to the PC via the USB 3 ports on the PC or is it advisable to plug the UFX II into USB 2 ports?

Thanks

EDIT: Oops, I just read in the manual it can be USB 3.

Re: RME Fireface UFX II into USB 2 or can it be USB 3?

This text is from a Mac-support-webpage, but technically it should be the same for Windows PC :

Can I plug a USB-2 device into a USB-3 port ?
Mechanically and electronically USB-2 and USB-3 are compatible, the data transfer rate is only at the level of the lower end - USB-2.

That means you should be able to have your interface working on the USB-3 port.

USB3 is fully compatible with USB 2. It is even pin-compatible, for USB 3 communications there are additional pins.
