Last night I pulled out my Presonus Studio Channel. I connected output of the studio channel to balanced line in 8 UCX. Line input of Studio Channel into output 6 of UCX.
My goal was to process already recorded audio. For the unprocessed track in Cubase my input was 8 and my output was 6. I heard playback in TotalMix Fx, but no processed sounds while dialing anything in on the studio channel. Am I missing something?
Did you the routing in Totalmix from Software playback channel 6 to the hardware output channel 6 ?

There is a signal visible on input 8 in Totalmix, so far all seems to be fine. A Cubase issue then …?
(EDIT): ah, you should create a new track with input 8 (and of course NOT output 6 to avoid a feedback loop), then enable software monitoring. Or you could use the function or plugin for external processing. I don’t use Cubase, but there is such in most DAWs.
You are most probably monitoring the output signal of Cubase but not the return signal from the Presonus.
In Totalmix the fader of input 8 is all the way down, pull it up and you will hear the Presonus sound on the main out (where your monitor speakers are connected ).

I tried it in Cakewalk as well. Im wondering if there is something wrong with the Studio Channel. The front meters move, but if i crank the gain/or level up I dont hear a boost in volume. Im not hearing anything from the knobs.
Have you monitor speakers connected to the interface or do you try to listen with a headphone ?

I’ll try that and and make sure input 8 is routed to the main outs. I am only hearing signal coming from Cubase and it’s not in any way processed

In the Totalmix photo you send the Cubase signal directly to the main-out and no signal from the Presonus to the main-out.
Unless you change this, you will hear the dry cubase signal only.
To find out if the Presonus unit is working properly or not, I would suggest to connect its outputs directly to your speakers.
EDIT: I meant the output to one of the speakers since it’s a single channel device …

That worked, but there is still some strange issue. It is only coming out the main on the right side. here is a pic

No, there are no hidden pan knobs. But in the screenshot the mono hardware output 8 is selected.
robj232, click on the main out channel strip, the view changes for the mono inputs and you will have the pan knob then.

Ah, that makes sense. I was wondering what was going on when the pan knob disappeared. When I fixed it I did click on the main and clicked the mono button, then back off. So I was somewhat close. Thanks
