Getting an expensive external box is one solution :

I would let it in the PC and install Windows new plain with a DAW for specific audio task.

For the Mac I would look out for another interface, USB, a Babyface Pro FS or a UCX ll .
If you need AES then the UCX ll has this, the Babyface has not.

M1-Sonoma, Madiface Pro, Digiface USB, Babyface silver and blue

I would look for a PCIe expansion from Sonnet.

Either buy "to the point" or get a bigger solution for more flexibility in the future, you need to check regarding price/features.
Some of these external chassis support insertion of GPU card, some not.
There is even a special version optimized for Avid HDX cards (text says: for full length and energy PCIe cards).

The company has been in the business since around 35 years and - AFAIK - offers stuff for Apple since very long time.
Company info here: https://www.sonnettech.com/about/index.html
I think there you will find a suitable solution for your Apple setup, I would contact their sales for consulting.
