Topic: UFX 5.0 Surround setup

I would like to connect UFX to an AVReceiver through optical link and set it in surround mode (5.0) so I can measure it with sonarworks.

I am going to ADAT2 and I can see that the link has been established in the AVR and it has lock the desired sample rate.

ADAT2 Out is set to AES/SPDIF in consumer mode.

I have configured "Speakers" option in windows as 5.0 which is the desired mode.

I can see the peak meter in totalmix peaks to max out in AES, ADAT3/4, ADAT5/6

However, I only get sound from AES labeled output and the AVR can see only two channels (the AES pair). Any ideas why it cannot transfer the sound from the rest or how to achieve it?

That's an interesting way of thinking - the AVR only sees the channels it is connected to - and that is astonishing? Not really...

There is no way to send 5.0 over a 2.0 interface, unless you send AC-3 or DTS encoded streams. But these will not come from DAWs or apps like Sonarworks.
