Topic: Specific sound "gone" after Babyface firmware update?

Hi!

OK, this is a weird one. I've updated my old/original Babyface's firmware from v223 to v226 (that is the ONLY change that I did, it happened before I updated the driver as well) - and since then I can't hear the Windows 10 Explorer "click" sound when clicking on folders, as I did before the FW update.

All other enabled sounds work, except for the "Start Navigation" (Windows Navigation Start.wav). The Windows Navigation Start.wav file plays fine If i double click it in the Explorer. But if I try to Test it in the Windows sound settings, it's just silence. Any ideas?

Thanks in advance!

You need to set the number of wdm devices again in the settings panel I guess

Where do I set this, in which settings panel?

The one in the bottom left corner, systray. Is called fire face usb settings I believe.

It's already set to the highest available number from the dropdown menu: 6.

Set it to one then. Unless you need surround sound from windows

Can you explain a bit about this setting? What does that change? I don't know why I have it set on "6"... I've read a bit through the manual but I'm not sure, I'm quite a newbie still... Thank you.

It is how many stereo outputs are shown to windows.
And are you sure under device Manager /sound, the output is set to rme analog 1 and 2

Re: Specific sound "gone" after Babyface firmware update?

Eh, I solved the problem. I now noticed that the FW update changed the Buffer Size (Latency) from 256 samples to 1024 samples. And that sound wasn't heard because it's so short. Now that I've changed the Buffer Size back to 256 samples it's fine again. Thank you for your help though.
