Topic: Getting audio dropouts with UFX III on Mac OS?

I've been using a UFX III for the last 6 months or so and have been very pleased, but as of late I have had an issue where the audio stops working on the UFX III completely.

Audio is still playing in the OS (Logic, Safari, Max/MSP, VLC, etc...), but I hear nothing coming out of the UFX III. And if I check TotalMix, I don't see anything there.

Typically I have to manually switch over the device in the OS to something else (e.g. "Built-in" audio) and back, and then it works. As in, after doing this, I see audio in TotalMix and hear audio again.

Today, however, even doing that did not seem to fix the issue. I had to physically shut down the UFX III in order for it to work again.

I am on Firmware v20, Driver v3.31 on Mac OS 14.3.

Has anyone experienced anything like this?

For context here's a video of what I mean.

In this case I was able to get audio working again by switching away from the UFXIII and back again in system preference, but as I mentioned, I sometimes have to physically turn off the UFXIII for it to start working again.

Another follow up here. Following a suggestion from RME support I tried different input ports and got it working when using the following one:

I remember reading ages ago that on the laptops each side has different throughput/buses/etc... and basically weren't identical even though appearing that way. I guess the same is the case on the mac minis.
