Topic: Sharing UCX II with a Mac and a PC and a 500 Rack

I'm looking for a new interface (mostly windows) that can work in windows and possibly also server as an ADAT expander for my mac when not being used in windows.  If i connect a 500 rack via analog (or ADAT) to the RME would it be possible to also quickly swap it out to the Mac system and send over via ADAT to a UAD apollo system?  Or would i have to swap the USB and somehow merge the Apollo/RME system on Mac (or make the RME the master and have the Apollo(s) connect externally?

Can you easily save and load presets to swap the device quickly from ADAT style expander to full audio interface without a lot of changes each time?

Any other ideas or suggestions welcome!

Hi
Yes, as many other RME interfaces, the UCX II can easily work as a standalone device. It has a storage / memory for up to six configurations. You can find some information about this in the manual.

(Chapters 23/24)
Be aware of a proper clocking concept and a corresponding configuration for the involved digital devices.
