Topic: Babyface Pro FS - SPDIF input status random behavior

Hi all, I have a Babyface Pro FS connected to a Sony Bravia TV through an optical cable. Normally it works ok, so I can hear what I play on the TV in the computer speakers. Randomly, even when the TV is off, the input status begins to change, I´ve recorded it and uploaded to Youtube, can anybody help me? I don't really understand what´s happening. If only it would be this behavior it's ok, but sometimes I get really weird noises in my speakers.

Thanks in advance!

Best regards,

Mauri

I would try different clock settings in the Fireface settings.
Clock Source : external optical input.

M1-Sonoma, Madiface Pro, Digiface USB, Babyface silver and blue

Re: Babyface Pro FS - SPDIF input status random behavior

If that video shows the TV in Off state (most probably not off but standby), then it clearly shows that junk is coming out of the optical port, making the BF Pro trying to sync to that junk. There is only one cure: unplug optical (or turn down the optical input in TM FX).

Setting clock input to optical is the correct way to use it with TV on, but would make things worse with TV off.
