Topic: Way to get lower latency in non-ASIO windows programs?

I have a Babyface Pro FS, and I'm trying to get it to work as good as possible with a karaoke application on windows where it takes in mic input(s) but only from WDM devices (I assume that's right, because you access it in the windows control panel sound settings) to grade singing performance; obviously the creators of the program didn't think to add ASIO support because it was intended for casual use.

However, I would like to know if there is any way to make the program not go through WDM (there is a built-in latency measurer in the program, with WDM hardware inputs from Babyface have ~60ms latency, in comparison the built in laptop microphone has ~30ms latency), or if WDM can be configured in a way to reduce latency. In totalmix, I simply have the hardware input of my microphone AN1, and in windows control panel sound recording section I have AN (1+2) selected, which the program recognizes as the microphone. 2ch, 24bit, 48khz, 128 samples.

See manual: the buffer size setting also affects WDM. And you could try to use 192 kHz sample rate.
