Topic: rme adi-2 pro black edition 2.2 setup problems

hi everyone, i just bought this unit, and i love it, now i would like it to use on JRIVER with dirac live, i did install the vst plugin , i did put the RME in the multichannel mode, i connected the main on the back XLR and the subwoofers on the front headphone jacks, aside from this, why in dirac i can't hear the subwoofers? i tried the custom channel configuration in dirac that i got 2.2 setup, but nothing, the mains work but i cant on the subwoofers. on the rme adi 2 remote should i set something in the headphone ph1/2 and 3/4 ? what i am doing wrong? i passed all day on the configuration ahah

Changing from Stereo- to  Multi Channel Mode needs to unplug USB while doing so.

Re: rme adi-2 pro black edition 2.2 setup problems

Did you choose USB Mode?

Factory default “Auto-Mode” does that by it’s own, but if you changed something …

Is PH 3/4 muted or volume all down?

Re: rme adi-2 pro black edition 2.2 setup problems

Maybe try a full factory reset, then just change to Multichannel, nothing else.
While trying, you might have set something that is not easy to figure out from here.

Reset:

While powering up, push and hold the VOL button (NOT the VOLUME dial) and Encoder 1, until you see the message: “Reset done.

User Setups and EQ Presets are not deleted.

Or a full factory reset:

While powering up, push and hold the VOL button (NOT the VOLUME dial) and Encoder 1 and Encoder 2, until you see the message: “Reset done“.

All user Setups and EQ Presets are deleted.
Take notes before, or store them through the Remote App, if you want to keep some.

Re: rme adi-2 pro black edition 2.2 setup problems

If you install ADI-2 Remote App you could post some pictures of your configuration, the “DEVICE” page of the app.

Use an external photo server, as this forum does not have an upload function.

Re: rme adi-2 pro black edition 2.2 setup problems

• Set “Toggle Ph/Line” to “Off”.

• Source for Phones 3/4 needs to be set to USB 3/4 if you want individual outs from Dirac.
Currently the sub should work, but together with the main speakers from USB 1/2.
If you already filtered the mains, there might not be much left the sub can play.

• Output PH 3/4 is set 15 dB quieter than Line Out (Ref Level: Lo-Power).
Switch on “Auto Ref Level” for Phones Out 3/4 and dial the same Volume dBr as Line Out.

Re: rme adi-2 pro black edition 2.2 setup problems

Guess i Maybe did find the problem but i am very pissed off after spending a lot of time. I read some where that i could be some driver conflict in Windows and an okder version of driver should work does anyone had similiar problem? Guess i am unlucky

I did find this Comment

Ok, got a solution from RME that seems to solve this issue (still need to do more testing though.)

Looks like they removed support for "other" multichannel configurations at some point and only support 7.1.

Luckily this means there is a driver version that still contains 5.1 surround (among others) support.

It's driver 0.9654. Downlead link here: https://rme-audio.de/downloads/driver_m … _09654.zip

Obviously this has the downside of reintroducing any bugs that were fixed between that driver and latest but at least it's something.

I tried them. Diddnt work Maybe i have to do an hard reset where i disinstall evrything about the rme

What does the post you quoted have to do with the ADI-2 Pro? It does not support surround sound configurations, nor do you need that for your purpose.

Fireface UCX II + ARC USB > ADI-2 Pro FS R BE > Neumann KH 750 DSP + MA 1 > KH 120 A

Re: rme adi-2 pro black edition 2.2 setup problems

If Windows shows only 2 channels of WDM devices then you did not set the unit into multichannel mode as you wrote in yoour first post.

Re: rme adi-2 pro black edition 2.2 setup problems

I have tried all. Windows cant see it as a 5.1 unit. Only in stereo. Tried even the hard reset.nothing

Re: rme adi-2 pro black edition 2.2 setup problems

Then we're talking about different things. You do see all hardware outputs in Device Manager playback (4 stereo devices), but can't select 5.1 for any of its outputs as format for WDM. That is correct and not implemented because it makes not much sense, given that the outputs for 5.1 will have mixed analog/digital format.

I am just dumb that i have to sell it? I think yes ahaha. My friends has a Mac and configured it very easy

Re: rme adi-2 pro black edition 2.2 setup problems

In case this is helpful, I just enabled USB Multi-Channel mode on my ADI-2 Pro FS R for the first time, connected to a laptop running Windows 11 Pro.

As expected, I have now gained 3 stereo input devices and 4 stereo output devices. I can see these new devices in Device Manager. An even better view is under Systems > Sound > All sound devices since that breaks them out by Input and Output devices.

Unfortunately, I can't copy an image into this reply. But here is a text list of all of my Input and Output devices, showing the new RME ones and the names that were automatically assigned to them.

System > Sound > All sound devices (list is sorted to show RME devices grouped together first)

Input devices

  • Analog (1+2) | RME ADI-2 Pro

  • AES | RME ADI-2 Pro

  • SPDIF | RME ADI-2 Pro

  • Microphone Array | Realtek High Definition Audio(SST)

Output devices

  • Analog (1+2) | RME ADI-2 Pro

  • Phones | RME ADI-2 Pro

  • AES | RME ADI-2 Pro

  • SPDIF | RME ADI-2 Pro

  • Speaker/HP | Realtek High Definition Audio(SST)

  • DELL U3223QE | Intel(R) Display Audio
