Topic: Logic Pro on Ipad / Total Mix on iPad

Hello,

I am trying to setup my RME UFX III with an iPad, running the Total Mix on iPad, and also Logic Pro on iPad. I have class compliant turned on, and Total Mix works great. So does adding RME inputs to Logic Pro. There are two issues, I'd be grateful to the community to help with:

1. When adding an Audio Input in Logic Pro, I'm presented with 34 inputs from RME. This number seems arbitrary.

I have 13 inputs that are NOT hidden, and setup properly (I believe) in the Total Mix matrix. And 64 inputs in total, if we include all hidden inputs. My preference is to show the 13 inputs, and then also allow access to the 10 outputs, all from within Logic Pro.

2. To share settings between Total Mix on my PC, and Total Mix on my iPad (without using Total Mix Remote), I have to go through the following steps. This seems very 1980s. Is there a better way?

a. On Mac, Save As workspace file to iCloud
b. Disconnect USB cable
c. Manually switch RME UBX III to Class Compliant mode
d. Plug cable into iPad
e. Find workspace file on iCloud, on iPad
f. Copy Paste workspace file on iCloud into iPad Total Mix folder
g. Load the workspace file from inside the Total Mix settings.

Then reverse this whole process, to share changes back with my Mac.

Re: Logic Pro on Ipad / Total Mix on iPad

you can create an ALIAS of the original workspace file in the mac and upload this to iCloud, there is a chance this will cancel out steps a b c d.
Are those 34 input channels stereo-channels ?
If channels are hidden or not in Totalmix should not affect the number of channels in the DAW, hidden channels ist just a layout feature in Totalmix (right ?)

Re: Logic Pro on Ipad / Total Mix on iPad

1. That number is from Logic, if at all. All iPad DAWs have a limited number of I/O channels. TM FX shows and controls all I/O channels as it is just a remote of the hardware.
