Topic: Fireface UC mic input 2 noisy (and recordings much quieter than mic2)

My Fireface UC mic input 2 has high pitched noise (seen in totalmix, but audible anyway when phantom is on). I did a recording earlier - mic 2 singal was extremely quiet, although the levels for the mic 1 and mic 2 inputs were exactly the same. (I used the same type of condenser mics, tried multiple different cables and even switched the mics to be sure).

This problem suddenly occured this week. Has anyone had the same problem? Is it faulty preamp, broken socket or something else I'm missing?

From what you describe, you have flipped the mics and assured the input levels (buttons and gain knob in Totalmix ) are identical on both mic inputs, but input mic 1 is low and noisy, this seems to be a broken input stage.
