Topic: TotalMix missing .dll file

Hi everyone,

My Fireface UFX is connected to my Windows 7 PC via USB and seems to be lighting up at the front panel, yet I can't get TotalMixFX to open. When I start my computer, I get a system error message saying 'api-ms-win-schore-scaling-I1-1-1.fll' is missing.

Ive updated drivers and done a flash update and the problem persists.

Does anybody have an idea how to fix this?

Thank you
Leigh

Re: TotalMix missing .dll file

Was it yesterday still ok? Any possibility to restore a backup / disk image (without loosing other newer data)?

Consider purchasing Macrium Reflect Home, an intelligent disk imaging software.

Today, I had to perform a system restore myself. My system SSD is 4 TB, with about 1 TB used.
It took less than 10 minutes, including reboots and restoring the latest version of my Firefox bookmarks.

The rapid restore was made possible by one of Macrium Reflect's key features, Rapid Delta Restore. This feature restores only the files that need to be changed, significantly reducing the amount of data restored compared to the entire 1 TB.
Consequently, this also results in much less wear on the SSD cells.

Re: TotalMix missing .dll file

The PC was just recently restored from an image, so I do have access, however within that system, it was working via FireWire but I'd never tested USB.

Now, I believe my FireWire slot is broken, as it's not lighting up, I've tried 2 PC ports and 2 cables, so I decided to try USB.

I should have mentioned, it runs fine on a neighbouring Win 10 PC but on the Win7 PC, in the Device Manager, there is a yellow warning on the RME itself.

I have Macrium ready to go but I'd need to be sure my FireWire ports are working.

And, I'm sorta holding back unless there's another fix, so I can use USB.

Thanks for your help

Can you provide a screenshot, please? Place it to a cloud, get the URL and link it here using url or img tags.

Using USB is not a bad idea, usually it works really fine and you can also perform firmware updates.
When I had an UFX years ago, I also started with FireWire and ended up using USB.

Sorry, what do you want to see in the screenshot?

What yellow symbol you mean in device manager, how it looks or whether there is a message or if you click it.

I ended up reverting back to my backup image and managed to get the USB working. Didn't really change much but apparently, that did the trick.

Thank you for your fast replies, much appreciated!
