Topic: clock sync and best A/D

Hello, I got the following equipment:

HDSP9652
ADI PRO
ADI ANIVERSARY EDITION
ADAT XT20

I think that the best digital clock is the one from de ADI AE, is right? I use this as master clock, is this the best option or I should use the HDSP9652 clock?

I only use 8 inputs of A/D, what should I use? the ADI pro? or the ADI AE?

Thanks

Pedro

Re: clock sync and best A/D

I would use the HDSP for convenience reasons. The clock quality is not inferior to that of the AE.

Re: clock sync and best A/D

I would prefer choosing the A/D as clock master. I think this generation of converters performs best when running free.

Can't tell which of the converters has the better A/D: As I understand it, the AE has slightly inferior A/Ds than the DS, but in comparison to the Pro...?

Re: clock sync and best A/D

I read that the clock of the ADI EA is the same of the ADI DS, and I better than the HDSP isn't?

Best regards

Re: clock sync and best A/D

Maybe the clocks are the same, but I think the point is that the ADI-8 Pro/AE/DS perform better when they follow their own internal clock. The QS has steady clock, which changes the situation.

Re: clock sync and best A/D

Only one device can be clock master, so at least one converter will have to be clocked externally anyhow...
