Topic: Router connection issues

Hey guys, I have a strange problem: recently i did reinstall my MacBook Pro M1 2021 from scratch because I’m troubleshooting dropouts with my UFX+ (and it automatically installed Sonoma instead of monterey what i had before)
I was able to connect tm fx with my ipad from my home Fritz box router or from a hotspot from my iPhone.
But for some reason i can get it to work with my router in my live setup! I reseted the router, checked the ip address multiple times and all devices are on the same network!
Could it be that the live router uses just a wpa security instead of wpa 2/3?
Cause touch osc doesn’t work either … don’t know what to do anymore and i need it next week for a big live show… thanks in advance for your help!!!
Sidenote: i still had dropouts with the kext driver but testing the dk driver now and i bought new cables and testing different ports on my MacBook Pro…. So fingers crossed

Re: Router connection issues

The WPA versions should not be a problem as all your devices have access to the same network with the password.

Sure the Mac with the fresh Sonoma install has the Firewall off ?

Re: Router connection issues

As wadi told: Encryption is not relevant as both devices are really connected in the same LAN.

You use a FritzBox as your "live router"?
If yes: The "communication between devices in LAN" checkbox is enabled in the Fritzbox Network settings?
If not: Which router, exactly?

Make sure that Totalmix FX (and Touch OSC) are set to "allowed" for incoming Connections on Sonoma (Settings - Network - Firewall - Options) if you have the Firewall enabled in general.

Re: Router connection issues

if Firewall on Mac is OK, the Apps (TM, TM Remote, TouchOSC) are set to allowed to use Local Network (in Mac/iPad Security Settings) AND we use a Fritzbox, make sure that "Allow communication between (W)LAN devices" Checkbox is enabled:

- Click in the user interface of the FRITZ! Box on "WLAN".
- Click on "Security" in the WLAN menu.
- In the "Other security settings" section, activate the option "Active WLAN devices may communicate with each other".
- Click "Apply" to save the settings.

This is the only Point, which could be the reason regarding Fritzbox config. Other Routers may have a similar option.
