Topic: Need a 10 channel delay chain
Hi
I wonder, whether I can achieve the following with the help of RME products: I need to delay 10 channels by 60-100 ms, analogue in/out, standalone.
Why?
I have a full Dolby Atmos 11+1 AV setup. Problem: new “digital” front left&right speakers introduce a bigger audio delay than the AV-preamp is able to cope with, so they lag behind the other speakers - everything sounds “space-y”.
The only solution that I currently see is to find a way to delay all other speakers by the same amount, the front stereo speakers are introducing.
Any ideas?
In case, you would need more information, here is a more exact description of my setup.
- there is a main stereo system, consisting of a fully digital “Linn Exakt” chain, hence the delay of the front l/r speakers
- For AV purposes, there is a designated, Dolby Atmos capable, 12-channel AV preamp
- the AV preamp’s analogue outputs are routed as follows:
Front left&right -> Stereo Inputs of the Linn stereo system (this was an analogue system before, that did not introduce any audio delay)
Center/Surround/Atmos -> extra power amps for the respective speakers
Sub -> active sub
Thanks for your help!
