Topic: Behringer X-Touch for TotalMix and DAW at the same time?

I'm thinking about purchasing an X-Touch, and I'm a newbie to such controllers (always used analog mixers before).

I'm wondering if anyone knows the answer to this: Is it possible to set up the X-Touch so that some of the controls go to RME TotalMix while other controls go to my DAW?
For example, on a very basic level, this is how I would like to use it:

Faders, Mute & Solo buttons would control TotalMix, treating it like a digital mixer.
Transport Controls would point at my DAW (Reaper), basically acting like a tape machine.

If I dig deeper, I might want controls for Sends too. But my basic question is whether or not the device can control TotalMix and a DAW at the same time without changing presets or layers back and forth.

Re: Behringer X-Touch for TotalMix and DAW at the same time?

I was in a similar situation a longer time ago...

I dont know if Behringer offers a full customizable Editor SW to be able to reassign every of its buttons/controls today.
But afaik: It is very very limited. No updates anymore, It seems that there exists only a (old) editor for x-touch compact or mini.

My experience is: There does not exist any controller which would be customizable enough for your need by its delivered software/firmware from the manufacturer.

I would recommend to look for more flexible controllers, regarding to be able writing your own sw / plugins /whatever.
Or using third party sw tools (like midi pipe, etc).

So, its possible, but not easy. Depends on how much (time) effort you want invest for this goal.
