Topic: UCX II configuration for FarPlay / Jamulus, Etc

Hello,
I just purchased my first RME device and installed it in kernel driver mode on my Intel Mac.
(My previous antelope audio Original Zentour model died.)
The new RME sounds excellent and latency is reduced.

I have watched a few videos and picked up how to create and save a basic Mix and host to add or remove routings via the Mixer and Matrix View, also experimenting with the the RME Loopback function.

One of the things I had configured on my old interface was to be able to play online with other musicians in FarPlay, Jamulus, and Sonobus. (but mostly FarPlay due to the audio quality and multitrack recording)
It admittedly took some amount of tweaking getting my old interface to work in these apps but once I did it worked for all three apps.
Initially I tried joining a session with the RME but my audio was not playing in the session.

The old interface did work for all 3 apps and I was also able to run Gig Performer 5 on a second audio interface built in to my Roland RD-88 and make that part of the mix.
Since this is my first experience working with Total Mix and have only an early understanding of it's routing system I am appealing to the forum community members who have used their RME interface in this context with this apps for assistance creating a basic mix that will work.

Thank you.

Re: UCX II configuration for FarPlay / Jamulus, Etc

Loopback is the key for this.
To be more specific : Loopback on channels 1/2
Send the audio you want to send to Jamulus to the hardware output channel 1/2, activate Loopback there and this audio (submix) is forwarded to the input channels 1/2 (those input channels are used by these softwares Jamulus etc.)
You will be able to do all your tasks as before, no problem.
Watch all Totalmix Youtube videos carefully and get familiarized with the interface.

Thank you Waedi,
That was the piece I was missing to get started. I really appreciate your assistance with this.

It's daunting having to learn a new mixing environment after so many years of working with AntelopeAudios routing mix app.
I am starting on the Total Mix video's now that I have a resolution for this issue.

Re: UCX II configuration for FarPlay / Jamulus, Etc

Good to know the Loopback is pre-fader in the UCX ll, there are other interfaces where the Loopback is post-fader.
In your case it may be useful as you can pull down the fader hardware output 1/2 in case a microphone is picking up signal from loudspeaker, but the Loopback signal for Jamulus remains.
You are experienced with Antelope, then you will find yourself comfortable with Totalmix soon, no problem.
Happy learning.

Re: UCX II configuration for FarPlay / Jamulus, Etc

Although I now have my 3 audio sources when I join a session in FarPlay or Jamulus there are two issues I have not found a solution for.
All three programs are having the same issue

Issue 1.  When I join a session with others they are hearing their own audio echoing back to them
Issue 2.  The FarPlay and Jamulus sliders that controlled my instrument volume no longer work as before.   It is only controllable thru Total Mix.  (also with that I have only been able to get sound working from Mac apps if I specify input ports 3/4 in Total Mix and  FarPlay and Jamulus.)

I have reached out to FarPlay support to see if they have a solution also.
I could easily get this config to work on the AntelopeAudio mixer but it's more confusing on the RME TotalMix

From what I have listed does anyone have a suggestion of steps to take to resolve this?
