Topic: Digicheck v 5.94 displaying peak volume 3 db quieter

Has anyone else noticed this? When using Totalyser view, the peak volume is displaying 3 db quieter than what it really is.

Can't confirm
I use Digicheck NG 0.91

From where you read what "really" is ? From Totalmix or from the DAW output ?
Put a limiter into the masterbus in your Daw and play with the peak ceiliing dB, monitor the reaction in Digicheck it will be very close.

Thank you for your reply. And I see that you are correct in that the limiter on the master bus is showing the same peak level as Digicheck. The master bus level is 3 db quieter than the channels level. Have a feeling I'm about to learn something I should have know.  lol

I have a trim plugin on the channel and on the master bus, and can see that the master bus is 3 db quieter.

Why is the master bus peak level 3 db quieter than the channel's peak level?    Thank you.

Could it be the panning law in whatever DAW you are using?

I'm using Studio One Pro v 5.

Yes, I think that is the answer. The track is panned at center and it is a mono track.

I just tested it by panning hard left or right and that did the trick.

Just learned something new. Good to know that my Digicheck is working as it should.

Thank you Babaluma, and everyone else for your replies. Cheers!

No worries, glad you got it sorted! It comes up from time to time with REAPER too, it caught me out once ages ago. In REAPER you can easily change the panning law globally or per track.
