Topic: Fireface Driver 4.12?

Hi
I just had a weird couple of days where I accidentally borked my original Babyface from working properly on my newish Mac Studio (Sequoia 15.1).
I had been using a 2015 iMac 27" for many years and the transfer to the new Mac Studio seemed to work fine iirc as far as the BF was concerned.
But yesterday I went looking at the RME site for newly issued drivers and found one that was published in Oct. 2024 so I thought i should be using that driver.
But stupid me didn't didn't check the version number of the currently working driver, which was higher than the driver I was installing.
The working driver was 4.12.
The one I was installing, supposedly the latest driver on RME's site, was 3.33.
And, of course, after installing 3.33 my BF would only operate in Class Compliant mode, otherwise the system would not recognize it.
And TotalMix would launch but not show any windows because it saw no device.

So I started looking around the RME site for driver 4.12, which I have no idea where I had originally gotten from, but no luck.
Luckily I could use Time Machine to roll back my system to before I changed the driver and all is well now and i'm back on 4.12.

But where the heck did I find the Fireface USB 4.12 driver in the 1st place?

Anybody?

Re: Fireface Driver 4.12?

OK. Please ignore this thread.
I found the 4.16 Driver Kit and all is well.
Why it's listed in the middle of the available drivers and not at the top is beyond me.
Thanks anyway.
Maybe this will help someone else.

Re: Fireface Driver 4.12?

It helps to read the readme coming with the drivers. V 3.33 works with the Babyface, but needs the usual Security Reduced setup procedure for Kernel Extension drivers.
