Topic: Clicks and Pops in RME Digiface USB when Totalmix is on

Edit, maybe some more clues?: Switching to 64 samples seems to keep them from clicking, previously, the clicks were happening at 128, 256, 512. After going to 64 samples, 128 is not clicking

I have been plagued for years with clicks and pops from time to time that I just could not diagnose. By accident, I turned off Toptions/Output TotalMix checkmark in MADIface Series Settings and the clicks and pops have gone away. Turn it back on and they come back. What can I check now?

I do have some WDM devices, but not sure how to save my config and test removing them

Removed the WDM devices and still getting this problem. Tried removing the video card and using onboard video, same problem.

As long as Totalmix is on, I get clicks and pops. Turn it off and it all goes away

What means turn off Totalmix ?
Close the window ? Or shut down the application ?

Also, I do not think audiosignal goes through TM. IMHO it is just interface to set DSP and so in HW.

But yes, it might use CPU resources when visible and user UI has to be redrawed. But is should not bring much stress on CPU and GPU.
