Topic: RME UCX II USB Not Connected After Power Surge ????

Hi everyone,

I'm absolutely gutted. My studio just experienced a power surge and since then my 1 month old RME UCX II has completely stopped working.

After the power came back on, I tried to connect the UCX II via USB, but my computer did not recognize it. I've tried multiple USB cables and different USB ports, but nothing seems to work.

I'm heavily reliant on this interface for my music production, so this is a huge blow. I'm not sure what to do at this point.

Should I:

1) Contact Thomann (where I purchased it) directly? I'm worried about shipping costs and potential warranty issues OR

2) Try to get it fixed locally?
Any advice or similar experiences would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Did you try with another external power supply ?

And are you sure it is not the USB ports on the computer that are fried?

Unfortunately my country is not listed there. I think the best is to liaise and contact Thomann. I really hope this is not complicated and easy exchange or repair from Thomann hmm

Anw, yes I've tried other power and the RME UCX II has no issue powering. Just no USB icon indicated.

100% confident that it is not my computer USB (luckily!). Because my SSD, USB midi controller and even now I am reconnecting my old RME UC as a replacement interface, it is working as usual.

So weird and I can't believe I had to face this. Too soon lol sad
