Topic: Midi over DANTE?

Is it possible to use RME Connector to remote controling an Octamic XTC connected via MADI to a 12Mic-D?
The PC has a Dante Virtual Soundcard.
Or in order to use the XTC should be connected via MADI or USB?

Thanks for your help!

Re: Midi over DANTE?

It is not possible; the remote control commands can't reach the 12Mic-D over Dante.

In your case, an option would be to experiment with RTP MIDI adapters that you connect directly to the XTC (and then connect the adapter to the secondary 12Mic-D network port operating in 'switched' mode). Your computer would then have a virtual RTP MIDI adapter installed that you could configure in connector; I am not sure if the timing - especially with Dante traffic on the same network - is precise enough to allow reliable control.

Thanks Max!
Well, it means I’ll have to go back and forth from the recording room when needed.
It’s even healthier!

Or switch to MADI.
