Topic: ADI-8 Pro ADI-8 DS 2 different Boxs?

I'm looking to buy an ADI-8, and I have seen two different looking box,s. 1 is called the ADI-8 PRO DS and the other is ADI-8 DS. Both are about the same price but one has a black front panel and 1 has a blue front panel like the RME websites.

Is there a difference?

Is one an older model?

Did the vendor just mess up the photo?

Hi,

There's no such thing as a ADI-8 PRO DS, its either a ADI-8 PRO (max 48khz) and ADI-8 DS (max 96 khz).
Judging from the links you posted I think this is two different names for the same box.

Timeline wise the ADI boxes date like this:
ADI-8 PRO
ADI-8 DS
ADI-8 QS

They all increase in quality during the timeline. But the big jump is from DS to QS.
I've owned all of the versions (currently on QS).

The asking price if this is a DS is a bit high IMHO.

They are all great converters. But the PRO and the DS can be a bit dated today.
I would go for the QS if you can afford it.
